DANNY NOONAN TOOK TY WEBB'S ZEN PHILOSOPHY TO HEART

Caddyshack is obviously a classic full of phenomenal performances by some all-time comedy heavyweights like Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight, Bill Murray and Chevy Chase. Yet, the anchor of the film is clearly a young Michael O'Keefe who plays teen slacker Danny Noonan.

One of the more memorable aspects of the film, and a scene most often imitated on the golf course by amateur hackers and comedians is the scene where Ty Webb (Chevy Chase) gives Danny Noonan a brief lesson in the work of Zen philosopher Basho.

Well, apparently this lesson struck a chord with actor, writer and Zen practitioner Michael O'Keefe. When I checked out his website this morning I learned about O'Keefe's dedication to the Zen practice and what a truly important aspect of his life it is.

Personally all the wisdom I need in life comes from Caddyshack but give O'Keefe some credit for seeking bigger answers. Finding out Danny Noonan is now a Zen master is the type of revelation that keeps me going here at Magnitude 6!
